Editor in Chief
Hi! I’m Anu Gunturu, a senior day student from Great Falls, Virginia. Being a part of Gate for the past three years has created and solidified one of my most strongly held beliefs: the power of writing and its ability to share timeless, thought-provoking, and universally resonant themes. As editor-in-chief of Gate for the 2025-26 school year, I not only have the pleasure of curating a selection of thoughtfully-written pieces for the annual issue of the magazine, but I also play a role in the planning and implementation of school-wide events such as Anti-Valentines Day and Dance/Gate, where students and faculty are able to unite over a shared love of words. By doing so, I hope to share the joys and beauty of creative writing with the Madeira community, one in which anyone can partake and enjoy.

Hi everyone! I’m Naomi Rosen, a senior day student from Vienna, Virginia. This is my fourth year with Gate Magazine, and I’m excited to serve as Head Editor for PR & Marketing! Our team plans and hosts Gate’s events year-round—from Madeira favorites like Dance/Gate and Anti-Valentine’s Day to lunchtime readings, contests, and more—all to share the creativity and influence of this student-led magazine. Hi everyone! I’m Fiona Wang, and I am your Head of The Back Gate. I am a four-year senior boarder from Bejing, China and this is my fourth year as a member of the Gate staff. Located on our website, The Back Gate is Gate’s digital magazine where we aim to create layouts by literary and art pieces that are exclusive and not shown in our physical magazine. I have always been passionate about art and literature and Gate offers me the perfect opportunity to share that love with the Madeira community. By combining words with art, I am so excited to see what we will create this year together!

Hi! I am Chelsea Yue, a junior boarder from Shanghai China. This is my second year with Gate Magazine, and I’m so excited to be the Website Editor! I am going to update pages and oversee the designing process of Gate’s website. I have always loved Gate’s vibe and enjoyed working with everyone in our team. Designing and editing the website has always been a fulfilling experience for me and I am very excited for the year ahead of us. I envision Gate’s website this year to be more convenient for students and is able to support Gate overall.
